I GOT MY BOX!! Part 2

Well I’ve been away a while. Oopse. Anyway, the school year wrapped up alright, I lost a few friends, but I made new ones. Finals went ok, but after having mono, and all the drama my GPA for the semester was pretty sad (higher than 2, less than 3). But in other news I finally got my surprise box from Woolgirl. At Christmas one of my grandmothers bought me three kits, one that was Dracula themed, one that was Great Expectations themed and one that was Sherlock Holmes themed. The Sherlock kit was wonderful, and this month I got a box I didn’t know I was getting, presumably for my birthday? Who knows?? Anyway, let the pictures begin!

30 Day Challenge, Day 1: A Photo of yourself

2011
02.02

So on Facebook there’s this thing going around called the 30 day challenge, where for thirty days you upload one picture a day, fitting with what the “guidlines” are. I’m going to try doing this for thirty days here, as well as on facebook. Plus, I’ll put different pictures up here then the ones that I’m putting on facebook. So here it goes, Day 1, a photo of yourself with 10 facts.

1. I like to knit, and have been knitting since I was (I think) ten

2. I just started knitting socks, and have completed two pairs, one for me and one for Nick

3. I’m taking a drawing class and discovered that I’m really good at drawing shoes

4. I plan on knitting Charlie a Sheldon (stuffed turtle)

5.  I want to start lace knitting, but I don’t have any lace yarn :(

6. Apparently I have knitting on the brain

7. I was working on the second sock of my first pair of toe up socks, but my mother stole my needle

8. I am working on an ear flap hat that has tiny impaled people on it

9. I’m also working on a beret for my mom, as a replacement for the one I made her that she lost

10. I like pie

Why was everything at school drug related?

Seriously, it was freaking weird. It was like in almost every class someone brought up some sort of drug. In French we talked about the subjonctif tense (I wish, I would like, etc) and we’re writing sentences on the board that had to do with different subjects. My groups was Sauerkraut, which is DISGUSTING, and one groups was Amsterdam. Mr. R went around on the board, reading the different sentences, when he got to the ones about Amsterdam. The first sentence pretty much said this when translated into english: I like Amsterdam because it is legal to smoke . . . This is when things got even weirder. Mr. R asked what they were going to put after the word smoke. No one would answer so Mr. R then started putting words up on the board, one of them being the french word for grass. Then he started laughing and said that if they really wanted to do that sentence that Marijuana would have been the correct word to put up on the board. Then later in Math one kid made a mistake and Mr. G started saying that he knew the name and number of a really good eye doctor that he would refer the kid to. Then he was like, either your eyes are failing or you have really good drugs and you aren’t sharing. Let’s just say that today was weird, really weird.

On another note yesterday I made my boyfriend watch one of the greatest movies in existence. Want to know what it is? Huh?

I’ll give you a hint.

Still nothing?

You should have seen the look on Nick’s face when he first saw Frankie here, I’m pretty sure he made this face.

Best night ever.

Sereously, it’s freaking awesome. In APUSH we’re doing this project where we design a colleges and fill it with staff from the 1900s. In Bio we talked about the recent happenings in Arizona, seriously Google that, and then we talked about Fred Phelps (spelling? not that I care anyway, he’s the spawn of Satan after all). Then in French we had the best sub ever, he’s crazy awesome. Next I’m off to Humanities, where we have to show and tell about this “artifact” that we wrote a three page paper on. My artifact, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the book. I’m so excited. Then I move onto Precalc, and then Art, where we get to draw with an easel (we’ve been drawing sitting down up until now). Then I’m back home where I’m going to work more on my sock. I ACTUALLY HAVE THE TOE DONE! It’s crazy, like no joke. But I’m probably so excited because they’re my first pair of toe up socks ever (and it will be only the 3rd pair I’ve finished.

Thursdays Are For Baking, Blogging and Knitting: Part 1

2011

At least Thursdays where I get out at one are. I have time to come home, knit, do homework (if I have any) and possibly bake. Today I finished the first repeat on my Vlad Dracula’s Fangtasm socks, and I can’t be more happy with the self striping yarn and how it’s turning out (pics soon). And right now I’m waiting for my cookies to get out of the oven. I went from this:

To these:

and they’re almost done baking! I LOVE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!

I finished them last night, blocked them last night and wore them through the snow today. They helped keep my feet VERY warm and I am in LOVE.

Bellatrix wasn’t working with my stupid handpainted yarn *Facepalm*. So I decided to start a different pattern, look if you like:

Hopefully these will work, I looked at my “sock” (2 1/2 rows is not a sock) and it doesn’t seem to be pooling as bad.

Thank God

I started Bellatrix this morning and it is SO much easier than Nick’s aforementioned socks. Plus the yarn is beautiful, It acts as a self striping yarn, but then it’ll glob all the blue together, I LOVE it though, and can’t wait to have a pair made. I will leave you with this AWESOME pic.
